The quality and sound is far superior than an Epiphone, unless you spend some money on the Epi customizing everything but the wood (like the pros who play Epi's do), which is not a Gibson wood but it's not bad at all. Gibsons are fantastic guitars but they are a bit overpriced. Rivieras and Sheratons may sound very similar but a Casino has a different tone. That changes the tone drastically, and that's the reason why they do not sound alike. Casinos have a hollow body while Rivieras have a semi-hollow body which means that they have a piece of wood inside, where the pickups are placed. I know that there's kind of an Epiphone 'fanclub' in this forum but let's clear things up a bit.įirst things first, Casinos and Rivieras are not the same guitar.
